In the past few months, rumors have been flying around the internet that Sony would or would not launch a similar online service to that of Xbox Live for Playstation 3. Recently, Sony has sent out an email to selected participants, asking them to participate in an online survey, to “give them the chance to help shape the future of online gaming…” Some of the questions included in the survery were:

-Do you think you will ever purchase a PS3?
-Would you like a single identity and password for all online games? -Would you prefer global lobbies allowing you to play anyone in the world?

-Would you prefer geographically based lobbies?
-Would you like a standard, interactive lobby structure for all games?
-Would you like all games to support headsets?
-Should a keyboard be required to send messages?
-Should every game support USB keyboards?
-Would you like a friends list, showing who was online/offline?
-Would you like a friends list, which showed which game you were playing?
-Would you like private messaging across all games?
-Would you like a feedback rating to determine who your opponent was?
-Should players be able to vote out another player with a majority vote?
-Should the game host have the ability to remove players?
-Should opponents automatically be filtered by connection quality?
-Would you like to be able to download files, including music, game demos, and other content?
-Would you like the ability to access a dedicated game forum while in a game?
-Would you like the ability to take screenshots during a game, and share them with friends?
-Would you like the ability to take movie clips during a game, and share them with friends?

It sounds basically like which features of Xbox Live would you like to see in the Sony Online Service. I think it would be a great addition for online play, as it would eliminate the need to create a new account for each game, and re-register for every game which can be quite annoying, in my opinion.
